JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - NM State opened its road series at Jacksonville State on Thursday evening, jumping out early and carrying a lead into the late innings at Jana McGinnis Field. The Aggies received power at the plate and kept Jacksonville State quiet through five, but a decisive sixth inning swung the opener. NM State fell 6–3 in the series opener despite battling throughout.
Game – Jax State 6, NM State 3
NM State struck first in the opening inning as Kendal Lunar delivered a solo home run, followed by another solo shot from Lauren Garcia in the fourth to push the lead to 2-0. The Aggies added a run in the seventh on an RBI single from Devin Elam, but Jax State countered with six runs in the bottom of the sixth to take control of the game. Faith Aragon worked into the sixth and struck out six before the late surge proved to be the difference.

NM State continues its Conference USA series at Jacksonville State with Game Two set for Friday, April 3 at 5 p.m. at Jana McGinnis Field. The Aggies will look to bounce back and even the series before closing the weekend slate.
