LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State is set for its next stop of the fall season as it heads to Colorado Springs to compete in the Bedford Cup, scheduled for Sept. 26-28. The tournament field features a strong lineup, including Air Force, BYU, Denver, Idaho, Montana State, Northern Arizona, UNLV, Utah State and Weber State.
Play begins on Friday, Sept. 26, with doubles matches at 9 a.m., followed by the opening round of singles competition.
LAST TIME OUT
NM State opened its fall slate at the Wildcat Invite in Tucson, where the Aggies strung together a mix of gritty singles wins and solid doubles performances across the three-day event. Sophomore Matias Rojas set the tone on Friday with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 victory over UNLV's Roberto Hernandez. That momentum carried into Saturday as Rojas, Ricardo Mercado and Tobias Wallin each tallied singles victories, and NM State pairs collected three doubles wins highlighted by a tiebreak triumph from Rojas and Mercado. On Sunday, Snell closed out the weekend strong with a comeback singles victory, while the tandems of Wallin/Stipetic and Snell/Urlaub capped play with back-to-back doubles wins.
