TUCSON, Ariz. – NM State wrapped up the final two days of the Wildcat Invite this weekend, securing multiple victories across both singles and doubles play. The Aggies saw strong performances from multiple players, highlighted by Matias Rojas, Ricardo Mercado, and Tobias Wallin, who each notched singles wins during the second day of competition.
Rojas battled past Northern Arizona's Ivan Perisic in a tight 7-5, 7-6 match, while Mercado rallied for a 2-6, 6-1, 10-8 super tiebreak victory over UNLV's Roberto Hernandez. Wallin also came through in a three-set battle, topping NAU's Takumi Katsuda 6-4, 2-6, 10-6. On Sunday, Holland Snell closed the weekend strong, earning a comeback victory over New Mexico's Phil Bosin, 4-6, 6-3, 10-7.
In doubles, NM State produced a strong showing across both days. The pairing of Wallin and Roko Stipetic posted back-to-back wins, while Snell and Lance Urlaub added two victories of their own – including a 7-6 [7-5] triumph against UNLV's Kouame and Maksymchuk. Fischer and Patrick Lohmann partnered for a win against NAU's Volesky and Perisic on Saturday before closing the weekend with a 6-4 victory over UNM/SDSU's Perez and Kleege. Rojas and Mercado also teamed up for a 7-6 win against SDSU's Anderson and Kleege.
