Jaren Harris

Jaren Harris is set to begin his first season with the Aggies in 2023-24. Harris will take over as assistant coach and director of player development for the Aggies.

"Jaren has made an immediate impact on his arrival because of his ability to connect to people,  his passion for teaching and his knowledge of the game." said Adams on the new hire. "He is one of the top player development coaches that I have ever had on my staff in 29 years of coaching. It's been a blessing to watch him get these young women ready to compete. His energy is contagious and attention to detail is extremely rare."

Harris spent the 2022-23 campaign with Chipola Men's Basketball. The Indians went 29-5 in his lone season as assistant coach, finishing 9-3 in South Atlantic District play. Chipola cruised to a 30-point win over Cape Fear Community College in the NJCAA DI Men's Basketball Championship First Round before falling to Midland College in the next game.

Prior to his time at Chipola, Harris spent the previous two seasons with South Georgia Technical College. While at SGTC, Harris helped develop back-to-back Conference Players of the Year, a Conference Freshman of the Year, two NJCAA All-Americans and helped lead their team to their first trip to the NJCAA National Tournament since 2014.

Harris began his college basketball playing career at the College of Coastal Georgia, playing for the Mariners from 2009 – 2011. While at the College of Coastal Georgia, he helped guide them to consecutive conference championship appearances. He was selected to all-conference and all-tournament teams and was also selected team captain in his sophomore season.

Upon graduation, he enrolled at Albany State University to continue his education and basketball career. While playing for the Rams, he was awarded offensive player of the year and selected to the all-conference team. Off the court, he was a member of Center for the African-American Male and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Coach Harris, a native of Tennille, Georgia, graduated from Albany State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Health and Human Performance.
