Biography

2013-14 (Junior)
Mullings was named the Western Athletic Conference Pre-Season Player of the Year and WAC Player of the Year in 2013-14. Mullings was also named to the All-WAC first team and the WAC All-Defensive team. Mullings played in 35 games for the Aggies and led the team in scoring (16.8 PTS/G), assists (3.5 A/G), and steals (65 total). Mullings also led the team in free-throws made, he converted 168 of his 231 attempts from the free-throw line. In a home conference game against Texas-Pan American, Mullings scored a season-high 32 points and shot 9-of-15 from the field in the 90-78 victory over the Broncs. Mullings posted his first double-double of the season in a 96-87 conference victory over Seattle U, where he scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. At Utah Valley, Mullings added his second double-double of the season by picking up 19 points and 10 rebounds in the 66-61 loss to the Wolverines.  Mullings led the Aggies to their third consecutive WAC Tournament Championship averaging a team high 15.7 points and 4.7 assists during the tournament. In the final game of the season Mullings scored 18 points and recorded five rebounds in the overtime loss to San Diego St. in the NCAA tournament.

Summer 2013

Mullings played on the Canadian Development Men’s National Team in summer 2013. He traveled with the team to China for an exhibition tour in preparation for the World University Games in Kazan, Russia. Mullings helped the Canadians to the bronze medal game and 6-2 overall record. He started in seven games and averaged 10.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game and contributed 16 assists and 13 steals and shot 52.5 percent from the field.

2012-13 (Sophomore)

As a sophomore, Mullings was a significant force on the hardwood for the Aggies during their second consecutive season with a WAC Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance. He earned second team All-WAC and WAC All-Defensive team honors. Mullings was also named to the WAC All-Tournament team. Mullings led the Aggies with 13.8 points per game and posted team-high marks with 91 assists and 79 steals, which ranked second on NM State’s single-season list. He is fifth on the career steals list with 137. Mullings ranked first in the WAC in steals (2.26 per game) and in conference games only in steals (2.61 per game). He played in 34 of the Aggies 35 games in 2012-13. Mullings shot 47 percent from the field (167-of-355), 37 percent from the 3-point line (20-of-54) and 75.9 percent from the free-throw line (129-of-170) and averaged 5.2 rebounds per game. In his second season, Mullings tallied nine 20-point games. He recorded his lone double-double of the season against Southern Mississippi (Dec. 1) with 21 points and 11 rebounds, a season-high mark. Mullings scored a season-high 26 points at Niagara (Nov. 18). Defensively, he grabbed a career-high seven steals at Seattle (Jan. 10) in the 83-82 win in double overtime. Mullings also had a season-high seven assists against Northern New Mexico (Nov. 21).

2011-12 (Freshman)

Mullings made an immediate impact for the Aggies in his freshman campaign. He played in all 36 games and started in 26 contests. He averaged 9.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per game and was named to the 2012 WAC All-Newcomer team for his efforts. Mullings shot 48.9 percent from the field (128-of-262) in his freshman season. He ranked second on the squad in steals (58), third in assists (69) and fourth in blocked shots (19). Mullings became just the third player in Aggie history to record a triple-double, when he had 28 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, all career-high marks, along with five steals on 11-of-15 shooting in the 115-73 rout of Hawai’i (Feb. 23). Additionally, he earned WAC Player of the Week (Feb. 27) after he was just the 13th player in conference history to post a triple-double. In the 2011-12 season, Mullings supplied the Aggies with 16 double-figure scoring games including two 20-plus point performances. He scored 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field and a 7-of-7 performance at the free-throw line for his first career 20-point game at Bakersfield (Jan. 2). Mullings ended the season with double-digits in the Aggies’ last nine of 10 games. In the WAC Tournament semifinal game against Hawai’i (March 9), Mullings contributed a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. He concluded the year with 10 points, four rebounds and three assists in the NCAA Tournament against No. 17 Indiana (March 15).

High School

Mullings arrived in Las Cruces after a four-year career at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Collegiate Institute in Scarborough, Ontario. Mullings led the Blue Devils to a league championship and 10-0 record in both the 2009-10 and 2008-09 seasons for head coach Tony Vallejo. In 2007-08, Mullings and Laurier finished third in the Toronto District School Board East Region following an 8-2 campaign. In his first season, Mullings and Blue Devils recorded a sixth-place league showing. Additionally, Mullings played in the All-Canada Classic All-Star game.

Personal

Mullings is the son of Judith Waldin and was born in Toronto, Ontario. He is pursuing a degree in sociology.
