Jack Jarnigan

Jack Jarnigan brings coaching experience from the FCS, NAIA, and NCAA Divison III levels with him as he begins his first season with NM State in 2022.

Coming to Las Cruces from Wisconsin - River Falls (NCAA Div. III), Jarnigan flipped back to the other side of the ball as the Offensive Line coach. In addition to overseeing the line, Jarnigan became the Tight Ends and Running Backs coach for the Falcons. In the fall of 2021, UW - River Falls had an offense that led the WIAC and ranked third nationally. While at UW - River Falls, Jarnigan oversaw three All-Conference selections, including First Team All-American tight end Ben Beise, who inked a training camp deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jarnigan also helped lead the Falcons to the first postseason win in program history.

Before his time in Wisconsin, Jarnigan served as the Defensive Line coach at Marian University in Indianapolis. While with the Crusaders, Jarnigan had the opportunity to oversee a recruiting territory, manage a position room, and oversee individual periods at practice. Jarnigan oversaw the development of Cam Harris and Dylan Roth, a pair of All-Conference First Team selection who anchored a defensive line that finished second in the NAIA in sacks per game through the 2021 spring season. Marian’s defensive line finished tenth in the nation in total sacks (26), despite competing in just six regular season games.

Jarnigan began his coaching career at Southern Illinois University - Carbondale as a quality control coach and working with the offensive line.

Jarnigan was a four-year starter at center for Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana from. In the 2019 season, Jarnigan earned the honor of being the Crusaders’ captain. Jarnigan also helped oversee the Valparaiso community service efforts from the spring of 2017 until he graduated with his master’s degree in the fall of 2019.
