SAN ANTONIO, Texas - NM State returned to Roadrunner Field on Saturday for a doubleheader against UT Arlington and UTSA. The Aggies opened the day with a multi‑inning surge and double‑digit scoring to overpower the Mavericks before falling in a tight pitchers' duel to the host Roadrunners.
Game 1 – NM State 11, UT Arlington 3
The Aggies struck early behind a first‑inning two‑run shot from Kendal Lunar, then added a solo homer from Kendal Lunar in the third and a three‑run blast by Tamara Carranza in the fourth. Faith Aragon later delivered the knockout swing with a grand slam in the seventh while also going the distance in the circle to secure the win. Lauren Garcia added a pair of doubles as NM State totaled 10 hits.
Game 2 – UTSA 2, NM State 0
In a game dictated by pitching and defensive efficiency, NM State scattered two hits while Destiny Perez worked six strong innings to keep the game scoreless into the seventh. UTSA broke through late with a two‑run home run to walk it off and close the evening.
