CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – NM State was able to battle its way to an appearance in the fifth-place match of the H-E-B Tournament of Champions where they found themselves across from WAC foe Abilene Christian. Unfortunately, the Aggies were unable to get going on Saturday morning as they fell 4-1 to the Wildcats.
DOUBLES
- The Aggies' best showing in doubles action came from the tandem of Corey Clarke and Patrick Lohmann who led 5-4 over their opponents before ACU clinched the doubles point by way of wins at No. 1 and No. 2.
SINGLES
- Luca Fé D'Ostiani fought his way to his second straight singles win as he defeated ACU's Mihaly Deli 6-1, 6-3.
- However, this would be the lone singles match that would finish with an Aggie on top as the Wildcats went on to win at the No. 1, No. 5 and No. 4 spots to close out the match.
UP NEXT
Next weekend, the Aggies will head to Tempe, Ariz., where they will take part in the three-day ASU Invitational beginning on Friday, Feb. 25.
