TEMPE, Ariz. – NM State opened up the ASU 8-Team Tournament on Friday morning as they took on UNLV for the second time this season. NM State fell 4-0 to the Rebels and will now seek win number three on Saturday versus Nevada.
DOUBLES
- Each NM State duo fought its way to three set wins, however, UNLV would put together a pair of wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions to secure the doubles point and move onto singles action with the advantage.
SINGLES
- After Luca Fé D'Ostiani and Patrick Lohmann dropped their first sets, both bounced back to win their second sets before the match would be clinched. Fé D'Ostiani fell 3-6 in his opener before bouncing back with a 6-3 win over UNLV's Eduardo Cohen. Meanwhile, Lohmann also dropped set one 3-6 then picked up a 6-4 win over Thomas Navarro.
- Elsewhere, UNLV claimed wins at No. 2, 3 and 4 to pick up their seventh win on the season.
UP NEXT
The Aggies will now take on Nevada on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Kiwanis Tennis Center in Tempe, Ariz. The Wolf Pack also came away from Friday's matches with a loss as they fell to host Arizona State 4-1.
