LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State softball gets set to host Battle of I-25 rival New Mexico on Tuesday, April 2. First pitch from the doubleheader at the NM State Softball Complex is set for 4 p.m. MT.

WHERE TO WATCH
Fans who cannot make the doubleheader are able to watch the first game live on FOX Sports Arizona, FOX Sports Prime Ticket, FOX Sports San Diego and FOX College Sports Pacific. Adam Young is set to handle the play-by-play with Brian Cox serving as the analyst for the midweek clash.
Both contests are also set to air on the WAC Digital Network.
HORTON HITS A BOOM
Kelsey Horton holds the career total base record for New Mexico State softball. Her eight bases against Lehigh put her over the top, passing Hoku Nohara, US Bank NM State Athletics Hall of Famer, as the leader in the category. The slugger currently posts 466 total bases for her career.
The senior continues to climb in the career record books for other categories. The slugger sits in second for home runs (63), doubles (42) and sacrifice flies (11) while also ranking third runs scored (185) and RBI (190).
WHERE IN THE WAC
NM State ranks atop the Western Athletic Conference standings for home runs per game (0.93) and walks per game (3.24). Additionally, the squad is second in the league for home runs (27), saves (3) and sacrifice flies (8) while also placing third in walks (94), steal attempts (36) and batters struck out (158). The Aggies also post the top ERA in conference games (1.48).
Individually, Victoria Castro leads the league in slugging percentage (.713), on base percentage (.480), and doubles (10) while also ranking second in walks (20). Samaria Diaz ranks second in the WAC for saves (3) and batters struckout looking (19) while placing third for strikeouts (87).
LAST TIME OUT
The Aggies went 1-2 at Seattle U for their first series during league play. The squad defeated the Redhawks 4-0 in the series opener but fell 2-1 and 4-3 in extra innings during both contests.
Diaz allowed no hits through 6.2 innings during the shutout. The junior surrendered a lone single before a ground out ended the victory. Horton went 2-for-2 during the win with a single and a double. Kayla Bowen was 1-for-4 with an RBI.
LOOKING AT THE LOBOS
New Mexico sits at 10-24 for the 2019 season with a 1-8 record for Mountain West Conference play. The Lobos post a 7.21 team ERA while batting .244. During the first contest with the Aggies as a part of the NM State Invitational, New Mexico State came out on top 9-8.
Cameryn O'Grady is batting .365 with a team-best .646 slugging percentage through 34 games this season. The shortstop has 10 doubles and five homers along with a squad best 22 walks for her junior campaign. In the circle. Kennedy Fergeson holds a 5.13 ERA during her 24 appearances. She paces the pitchers with 65 strikeouts and nine complete games.

Following the doubleheader with the Lobos, New Mexico State welcomes Utah Valley for a three-game conference series at the NM State Softball Complex. The series opener is set for 6 p.m. on Friday, March 5. A doubleheader closes out the weekend on Saturday, beginning at 4 p.m.
