Scouting the Vaqueros
The Vaqueros are 13-12 overall with a 7-4 conference mark and sit in fourth place in the WAC. The last time the two sides met, the Aggies swept UT Rio Grande Valley in Las Cruces.
Savannah Davison led the way in that match with 12 kills.
Barbara Silva leads the way for UTRGV as she averages 3.49 kills per set, good for third in the WAC. As a squad, the Vaqueros rank fourth in the conference for hitting percentage (.212) and kills (12.07).
Defensively, UT Rio Grande Valley also ranks fourth in opponent hitting percentage (.204) while checking in at sixth for blocks (2.00).
Last Time Out
New Mexico State took on California Baptist in the Pan American on Oct. 28, as it looked to win its 12
th-straight match.
The Aggies started slow while the Lancers did a good job smothering NM State's outside hitters and CBU jumped out to a 2-0 lead after winning the first two sets 23-25 and 22-25. New Mexico State then took a close third set, 25-22.
Lia Mosher came alive off the bench in the fourth set and the Aggies won 25-21.
NM State led the Lancers 14-13 in the final set, but the Lancers tied up the match at 14. Then,
Savannah Davison crushed two-straight kills to seal the comeback.
