BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – New Mexico State dropped the series finale to CSU Bakersfield 8-2 on Sunday.

The Roadrunners got on the board in the second, leading off the inning with a single up the middle. A full count walk put runners on first and second. The first run scored on an E5. The second run scored on a single to first, putting CSUB up 2-0 after two innings.

The 'Runners scored again in the third, leading off with a full count walk. A double down the right field line scored the first run of the inning. Another run scored on an E9 during the same play. The third run scored on a sacrifice fly to right center, putting CSUB up 5-0.

CSUB added two more runs in the fifth. Both runs scored on a triple to right, putting the score at 7-0.

The Aggies finally got on the board in the sixth, as L.J. Hatch led off with a double down the left field line.
Austin Botello struck out swinging, but reach first on a passed ball.
Dan Hetzel grounded out to short, scoring Hatch.

The Aggies are back in action on Tuesday, as they travel to Albuquerque, N.M. to face New Mexico in the third game of the Rio Grande Rivalry Series.Â
