Coach Wilkinson joined the Aggie staff in the spring of 2024 as a defensive analyst. Wilkinson brings with him three years of coaching experience and four years of playing experience.
Â
The Las Vegas native has spent the previous four years in his hometown as a private coach and has trained athletes of all ages. Prior to returning to Las Vegas, Wilkinson served on staff for three years as a graduate assistant at his alma mater Northern Arizona.
Â
While working with the Lumberjacks, Wilkinson primarily assisted with the defensive line and, more specifically, with the interior defensive linemen. This role came following a four-year playing career with the NAU where Wilkinson shined on the defensive front for the Lumberjacks from 2010-13.
Â
As a player, Wilkinson earned all-conference honors all three years. In 2011, he was named honorable mention prior to earning secon team honors in 2012. He then capped off his career by being named First Team All-Big Sky in addition to earning All-American honors as a senior after starting and appearing in all 10 games. This recognition came on the heels of a season in which Wilkinson finished eighth in the Big Sky in sacks with 5.5. As a junior, he was named All-Big Sky Honorable Mention and notched a team-best 6.0 tackles for loss.
Â
Aggie Head Coach Tony Sanchez is quite familiar with Wilkinson as the defensive lineman starred for Coach Sanchez at Bishop Gorman High School ahead of his time at NAU. Under Sanchez, Wilkinson was a three-year letterwinner and starter, earned all-state and all-league honors and helped the team to division, conference and state titles in both 2007 and 2009.
Wilkinson has an undergraduate degree in communications with an emphasis on marketing. Additionally, he received his graduate degree from Northern Arizona in 2020 when he graduated with distinction with a Master's in Communication with an emphasis on qualitative and quantitative reasoning.
