LAS CRUCES, N.M. – After a week off, the Aggies are set to return to action this weekend as they head to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for the 61st annual H-E-B Tournament of Champions.
NM State kicks off play on Friday, Feb. 21, with a 5 p.m. matchup against former WAC foe UT Arlington in Corpus Christi. The Aggies will then have a quick turnaround on Saturday, Feb. 22, facing Louisiana at 8 a.m. to close out their weekend on the Gulf Coast.
LAST TIME OUT | VS ILLINOIS STATE (FEB 9)
After a tough doubleheader loss to Tulsa two days before, NM State bounced back with a hard-fought 4-3 win over Illinois State. The Aggies secured the crucial doubles point behind wins from Roko Stipetic and Lance Urlaub, as well as Itay Feigin and Patrick Lohmann, who clinched a tiebreak victory. In singles play, Urlaub, Stipetic, and Tobias Wallin delivered key wins, with Urlaub's straight-set victory proving decisive. Stipetic battled through a three-set marathon, while Wallin dominated his match to help NM State edge out the Redbirds and get back in the win column.
