LAS CRUCES, N.M. – NM State heads back out west to take on Gonzaga on Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. MT. This is the Aggies final non-conference game of their 2024 season. The Aggies have a chance to finish out their non-conference play 5-3-1.

Aggie Accolades
The Aggies as a team have racked up three consecutive Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week awards. Meredith Scott started the streak followed by Brook Schultz with Loma McNeese capping the streak off.
 
NM State also had three student-athletes named to the Conference USA. Ariana Leamons, McNeese and Xitlaly Hernandez were the three Aggies named.
 
Record Watch
2023 Conference USA Player of the Year Loma McNeese has 22 career goals, she is now tied for second in program history. Along with this, she is also tied for first in-game winnings goals (7), in second place in points (58), tied for second in PK goals (2) and tied for second in multi-goal games (2).
 
Valerie Guha sits in second place in shutouts among all Aggie goalkeepers. She is also third in goalkeeper wins (12), third in GAA (1.38) and ninth in saves (74).
 
 
Familiar Face
On staff for Gonzaga is Miguel Guante, former Associate Head Coach for NM State. Guante spent six seasons with the Aggies under Head Coach Rob Baarts. Guante aided in the development of McNeese, Hernandez, Jena Johannes and Sydnee Johnson.
 
Guante coached alongside Baarts leading the Aggies to their best season in program history with a 13-5-3 record in 2022.
 
History
The Aggies and Gonzaga have played just one game dating back to Sept. 19, 2021. The Bulldogs won 4-0 in that game. McNeese, Brooke Schultz, Hernandez and Mya Hammack all made starts in that game. Both Tati Jerman and Blakley Edgar played in that game.
 
Scouting the Bulldogs
Gonzaga is 3-2-1 with wins against, Illinois-Chicago, Kansas and Kansas State. The Bulldogs lost 4-0 to #6 Arkansas and 2-1 against Utah—their one tie came against California. Gonzaga has scored eight goals and eight assists while allowing seven goals.
 
Alexis Parker and Erin Ewers both have two goals on the year for the team lead. They are also tied in points for the team lead. Lauren Towne is the only Keeper that Gonzaga has played and she has a GAA of 1.17, 24 saves and three shutouts.
