MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The NM State men's tennis team saw its season come to a close on Saturday morning as it dropped its semifinal dual, falling 4-0 to top-seeded Middle Tennessee at the MTSU Tennis Complex. With the loss, the Aggies finish the year with a 9-13 record during the spring campaign.
To open the match, Middle Tennessee jumped out to a one-point advantage as they defeated Aggie tandems at both No. 2 and No. 3. Meanwhile,
Gustavo Campos and
Roko Stipetic held a 4-3 edge at No. 1 before the doubles point was clinched.
In singles action, NM State dropped matches at No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 to allow Middle Tennesse to earn a commanding 4-0 win. NM State will now begin its offseason and seek to improve moving into the fall schedule. Following the 2023-24 season, the Aggies are slated to return all of their players aside from senior
Vassanth Mathan.
