Aggies’ Season Comes to a Close in Miami

NM State finishes season with loss to Liberty.

Box Score MIAMI – Playing in quarterfinal action at the 2024 CUSA Women's Tennis Championships at the FIU Tennis Courts on Friday morning, the Aggies took on second-seeded Liberty, falling 4-0.
 
Starting the morning with doubles play, the Lady Flames got out to a hot start, securing wins on courts one and two. The NM State duo of Valeriia Ivanovskaia and Natsuki Nisihimura were able to tally a pair of points before ultimately falling by a score of 6-2.
 
In singles play, Lisa Zhu held control of her matchup in the #3 spot with Liberty's Esther Lovato, though the match would go unfinished. Similarly, Natsuki Nishimura held a 6-5 lead in set one before Liberty was able to secure enough points to claim the victory.
 
On the season, the Aggies conclude with a 5-15 mark overall, with a 2-4 record in Conference USA matches and a 3-4 home record. Anna Pinaieva closes her sophomore campaign as the NM State leader in singles play, compiling a 12-6 record. The duo of Whitney Moon and Lisa Zhu close the 2024 season as the best-performing doubles tandem, posting a 8-2 mark on the year including a 3-1 mark in CUSA action.
