Aggies Enters Final Weekend of Regular Season

NM State host Liberty on Senior Day Saturday before traveling to UTEP for regular season finale on Sunday.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – This weekend, NM State will wrap up its regular season as they take part in a pair of matches against Conference USA foes on Saturday and Sunday. To open the weekend, the Aggies will host Liberty on Saturday on Senior Day. Following the matchup against the Flames, NM State will travel to El Paso on Sunday to face off with rival UTEP.
 
FIRST SERVE
  • The Aggies return to action after a weekend trip which included road matches against CUSA foes Sam Houston and Jax State before wrapping up with a non-conference bout against UTSA. During the trip, NM State went 1-2 with its lone victory coming via a 4-0 win over Sam Houston on Thursday.
  • Last week, the Aggies were led by Lisa Zhu who finished the week 3-0 in doubles play and 2-1 in singles action. With the strong weekend, Zhu moved to 4-0 in singles action against CUSA opponents and 3-0 in doubles in league play.
  • The duo of Valeriia Ivanovskaia and Natsuki Nishimura also had a good road trip as they came away from the weekend with a 2-1 record, including going 2-0 in league matches.
  • Entering the week, Liberty holds an overall record of 14-5, including a perfect 4-0 record against CUSA opponents after defeating UTEP 4-0 on Friday afternoon.
  • Meanwhile, UTEP will enter Sunday's match with a 5-14 overall record and an 0-4 record in conference matches.

UP NEXT
Following the final two regular season matches of the season, NM State will travel to Miami, Fla., to compete in the Conference USA Tournament on April 18-21.
