Box Score STEPHENVILLE, Texas – After controlling the courts during doubles action, NM State dropped four of six singles matches to fall to Tarleton 4-3 on Saturday afternoon at the Potishman-Lard Tennis Courts.
DOUBLES
- After their three-match win streak ended on Thursday, Mirand Bishard and Bella Nguyen returned to their winning ways in doubles action as they defeated Celia Vaudiau and Ximena Morales Araneda by a dominant score of 6-1.
- Anna Pinaieva and Lisa Zhu then secured the doubles point for the Aggies as they knocked off the top Tarleton duo of Elsa Boisson and Martha Makantasi 6-3 to tally their 11th win of the season.
- Valeriia Ivanovskaia and Dora Kurdi then polished off doubles play with a 7-6 (8-6) win over Emma Persson and Clara Sobius at the No. 3 postiion. This also marks Kurdi's and Ivanovskaia's fifth win on the year.
SINGLES
- The Texans took control of singles action as they secured four wins in singles play before Miranda Bishard notched the Aggies' first singles win when she defeated Ximena Morales Araneda 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 at the No. 4 spot.
- Shortly after, Anna Pinaieva picked up her team-high 12th win of the season as she bested Emma Persson 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) in the most tightly contested match of the day.
UP NEXT
The Aggies now travel to Waco, Texas, to take on Baylor on Sunday before returning home for the final home match and final regular season match of the season as they welcome Grand Canyon on April 16.
