ABILENE, Texas – The NM State men's tennis team wrapped up its regular season on Sunday at the John T.L. Jones Tennis Building as they battled with Abilene Christian. The Aggies ultimately fell 6-1 to the Wildcats and will now turn their focus to the WAC Tournament beginning Thursday, April 27.
DOUBLES
- Roko Stipetic and Patrick Lohmann teamed up for just the second time this season and although they fell to Savan Chhabra and Ethan Scribner, the duo pushed ACU's No. 3 doubles team to a tiebreaker before dropping the match 6-7.
SINGLES
- In his final regular season match in the Crimson & White, Jordy Visser picked up a three set win over his Wildcat counterpart. After dropping the first set 4-6, Visser bounced back to win sets two and three 6-4, 7-5, respectively to defeat Daniel Morozov at the No. 2 spot.
- Elsewhere, both Roko Stipetic and Luca Fé D'Ostiani pushed their opponents to a third set, however, neither were able to close out their match, leaving Visser as the lone Aggie to earn a win on Sunday.
UP NEXT
The Aggies now get set for the WAC Tournament in 11 days. NM State will appear on the bracket as the No. 6 seed and will face off with the No. 3 seed on Thursday, April 27, at 2 p.m. MDT.
