Aggies Prepare to Host Incarnate Word and Northern Arizona

Saturday match to begin at 2:30 p.m.; Sunday's match to get underway at 9 a.m.

FIRST SERVE
• The Aggies' extended home stand rolls on this weekend as they play host to Incarnate Word and Northern Arizona on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
• NM State will look to build off last Saturday when they earned a convincing 6-1 win over Montana State.
• Thus far, Lisa Zhu has been the Aggies' top singles player – recording three wins this season from the No. 2 position.
• Head Coach Emily Wang has also got solid production from Miranda Bishard, Natsuki Nishimura and Anna Pinaieva whom each have a pair of solo wins on the year.
• In doubles action, two Aggie teams sit at 3-2 on the year to lead the way for the Aggies. Bella Nguyen and Miranda Bishard have teamed up to tally a trio of wins while Anna Pinaieva and Lisa Zhu have also managed three wins.
 
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
• Incarnate Word opened the season with losses to both SMU and Texas Tech, however, the Cardinals have yet to lose since then, racking up wins over Texas State, Prairie View A&M (twice) and Trinity (TX).
• Before visiting Las Cruces, UIW will make a pit stop in El Paso, Texas, to battle with the Aggies' I-10 rival UTEP on Friday morning.
 
SCOUTING THE LUMBERJACKS
• The Aggies' second opponent, Northern Arizona, will also duel with UTEP this weekend before facing off with NM State on Saturday.
• The Lumberjacks are currently 2-3 on the season with wins over Grand Canyon and Fresno State.
• NAU is led in sinlges play by Pat Niewiadomska who has compiled three wins this season. Meanwhile, the Lumberjacks' No. 1 player, Sofia Markova, is just 1-3 during the early goings of the year.
• Elinor Beazley and Daryna Shoshyna represent NAU's top doubles team – winning two of their three matches together.
 
UP NEXT
Next weekend, NM State will finally reach the end of their seven-game home stand as they host in-state rival New Mexico on Saturday, Feb. 25, at the NM State Tennis Center. The Aggies and Lobos are set to begin play at 2:30 p.m.
