U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Day three of the Aggies' opening weekend saw NM State players compete across five singles draws and three doubles draws.
 
In singles play, both Bella Nguyen and Georgia Townsend were able to pick up wins in the Charlie and Delta draws, respectively.
 
Nguyen knocked off Utah State's Indya Nespor in a tightly contested match that resulted in the senior winning 2-6, 6-4, 10-5. Meanwhile, Townsend got the best of Brigham Young's Avery Pope – winning in comfortable fashion, 6-1, 6-1.
 
On the doubles side, Nguyen was joined by Miranda Bishard to take down Iowa State's team of Lang Gould and Shalakova in a match that reached the tiebreaker before falling the Aggies' way, 8-7 (3).
 
UP NEXT
NM State will conclude its weekend stay in Colorado tomorrow as they wrap up play in the ITA Bedford Cup in the Mountains. Competition will begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday morning.
