Box Score EL PASO, Texas - A second half comeback was not enough for the Aggies in a 3-1 loss to UTEP Thursday night in El Paso.
Looking at a 3-0 halftime deficit, the Aggies came out with a much more spirited effort and led by a stifling defense. Freshman
Megan Ormson got the Aggies on the board in the 62nd minute with a header on an assist from
Emma Smith.Â
The Aggies had other opportunities including a breakaway shot on goal by sophomore
Hannah Leitner early on in the 69th minute, but she was unable to convert.
The Aggies were able to get seven shots in the second half compared to the Miners' five. Junior
Makenna Gottschalk had another solid outing for the Aggies with six saves on 12 shots faced. Ormson led the Aggies with three shots and two shots on goals while senior
Shea O'Connor added two shots.
The Aggies will be back in action on Saturday against Arizona in Tucson, Ariz. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. and will be live streamed on the Pac-12Â Network.Â
