Stijn de Haan claimed his third-straight singles title in the Aggie Invitational on Sunday after he beat out teammate
Louis Menard 6-1, 6-3.

His first title came his sophomore year against former teammate Christopher Goncalves and was deemed co-champions last fall when the two didn't play out their match on the final day.

In the consolation bracket,
Luis Flores took down Martin Simicek 6-3, 6-4 for fifth place while
Mauri Benitez bested teammate
Enrique Asmar 6-3 in a shortened match for seventh place. Sebastian Herrera also notched another win for the Aggies after being inserted into the tournament with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Abilene Christian's Michael Benavides.

In doubles action, the duo of Menard and Asmar laid claim to the doubles title with a hard-fought 7-6 (11-9) battle against de Haan and Benitez. Meanwhile, Simicek and Flores teamed up to defeat ACU's Cole Lawson and Jackson Fine 6-4 for third place. In the doubles consolation championship,
Nicolas Buitrago and Rosas Garcia ousted Riley Tran and Benavides from ACU 6-4 and gave NM State yet another victory.

NM State now travels west on I-10 for the Arizona Invitational this Friday-Sunday (Sept. 21-23) before getting a few weeks off to prepare for the ITA Mountain Regionals (Oct. 16-19).
