@NMStateWSOC to Conclude Non-Conference Action Against SMU and Arizona Christian

As the non-conference season winds down, NM State looks to end it on a high note with conference play around the corner.

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – The New Mexico State women's soccer team looks to close out the non-conference season on a high note as they head back on the road to battle SMU on Friday, Sept. 29, at 4 p.m. The Aggies return home for a 2 p.m. kickoff match against Arizona Christian on Oct. 2.

AGGIES TAKE DOWN NORTHERN ARIZONA

In a thrilling match of offensive power, NM State broke its four-game skid with a 3-2 win over Northern Arizona.
Forward Audriana Chavez scored the goal to put the Aggies up 1-0 in the first half against the Lumberjacks. This was her fifth goal on the season.
In the 52nd minute of action, midfielder Rebecca Mazzie scored her first goal of the year when she found the back of the net to extend the Aggies' lead to 2-0.
With assistance from Devin Hart, midfielder Tuti Tirado scored her first goal of the 2017 season, which came late in the second half of the match.

NEW MEXICO STATE FALLS TO HOUSTON

Midfielder Jody Hernandez got the Aggies on the board early with a goal coming in the 24th minute of play. This was her third goal of the season.
Goalkeeper Ashley Martin totaled eight saves during the match and held her opponents to three goals.
With the 3-1 loss, NM State falls to a 5-5-1 record.

PREVIEW: NM STATE AT SMU

For the first time in program history, New Mexico State will square off against the SMU Mustangs on Sept. 29 at 4 p.m.
SMU is led by six-year head coach Chris Petrucelli. In his 27 years of coaching, he has compiled an overall record of 383-158-46.
The Mustangs enter this match with a 4-3-3 record on the season, with wins coming against #17 Arkansas, Washington, Sam Houston State and TCU.

AGGIES TO HOST ARIZONA CHRISTIAN

For the final regular season matchup, NM State hosts Arizona Christian Oct. 2 with kickoff starting at 2 p.m.
ACU is led by head coach Alan Berrios, who enters his third season with the Firestorm.
The last time these two teams competed was on Sept. 26, 2016 when NM State defeated Arizona Christian 4-0. The Aggies lead with an all-time record of 1-0-0.
